What is Lil Red?

Lil Red is non profit organization supporting homeschool families by providing a “tiny home” customized as a @LilRedTinySchool. Lil Red is an RV style tiny structure that sits on a 8' x 30' trailer, making it mobile to be used as needed and where needed, and then hitched up and taken to its next home. Built for use by homeschool families, Lil Red's are placed in local neighborhoods and integrated into the community, making it conveniently located to homeschool family co-op members. It's like bringing the “little red country school house” of the old days back into the neighborhood, but with a modern twist!

Why Do We Support Homeschool Families?

Homeschooling is increasing exponentially year after year and Lil Red was formed to help families with some of the most pressing challenges - financial, physical space and connection. Our schools provide an immediate extension of the home and community, offering physical space for learning, social connection and homeschool activities, as well as providing a “school” identity and experience for the kids. As a non-profit, we are also able to assist with fundraising and financial contributions from the community are qualified as charitable tax deductions. It's all about coming together for the kids and creating the best possible environment for each child's success.

What makes the Lil Red community special?

Integrated into the community, Lil Red is more than just a school building. We start by helping families take that first step into homeschool education with confidence and excitement and then we continue supporting them by building and fostering a community around Lil Red, Lil Red parents and Lil Red kiddos!  Just like in the old days, when the school house was a centerpiece in the neighborhood, Lil Red is helping families step back in time, to take a step forward in creating the future they want for their children. In addition to normal homeschool activities on a daily basis, Lil Red is utilized for regular get-togethers, group activities, celebrations and events supporting the entire homeschool community.

Start by connecting with local families to give your kids the future you want them to experience!

Every homeschool co-op gets a website to start connecting right away to the homeschool community.

2. Apply for a Lil Red

If you want a physical Lil Red School House, you'll need to get on our list and get approved!

Meanwhile, you can start using all the feature of Lil Red & connect with homeschool families & the community.

3. Start Fundraising & Support

Lil Red is a registered 501c non-profit and can help you start fundraising for your Lil Red School House!

Take advantage of our non-profit status school fundraising, especially important if you want a physical Lil Red School!

Lil Red Riverton was the very first of what will hopefully become thousands of tiny schools in the country. We love the Lill Red mission to create connections among homeschool families and support them by eliminating one of their biggest challenges…where to meet! We're proud to be the first homeschool community hosting a Lil Red and we'd love to have you watch us grow!

Lil Red Wiggins invites you to join the Lil Red community and immerse you and your family in a collaborative and enriching educational and social environment, where your involvement directly enhances the experience for all. Our shared collaboration fosters a support system allowing homeschool families to have an experience that is so much more than going it alone.

Lil Red #3 has had a bit of a ride and we need your help!  We've finally got her released and we've found a new builder. The original builder did not complete the inside (though they were paid!) and we're trying to raise $25,000 to get Lil Red finished and ready for the 2024/25 school year.  Anything you can do to help would be very much appreciated.  And, we do not yet have a home, so feel free to apply!
